Friends we Recommend: Inertia Health Center

Today’s Precision Blog post features a professional we trust and recommend to our community for specific treatment that relates to soft tissue recovery. Dr. Kyle Goerschler has helped several clients from our community with muscular and neuromuscular complications or injuries. His expertise in applied kinesiology makes him one of the Northwest Suburbs foremost chiropractors, and we are very grateful for his flexibility to work in person and virtually with our team of trainers throughout the pandemic to formulate training solutions for our clients currently in his care.

Why We Love Precision

Precision has been a powerful partner for us for years. We’re always excited to take care of someone from the Precision community because we know we’re going to be like-minded in purpose and methodology.  Wade and his group have already bought into a high quality standard throughout their programs, which blends seamlessly with our process here at Inertia.

Our Purpose & Differentiator

Our mission, the reason we show up, is to help you be healthy, strong, and pain-free. Over the past decade in practice, we’ve come to realize what sets us apart is our strong focus on a problem solving style of care. We refuse to be dogmatic about fitting you into a single philosophy or technique. Instead, we carefully watch your progress and apply the specific care needed to make sure you’re getting better.

Clinical Framework

We use the way your motor system developed from 0 to 12 months old as a roadmap for the big picture of how your body should be moving. Long-term, we are aiming at restoring these basic patterns to help you solve your painful or injured area.

In the short-term, we use muscle testing to manually check individual muscle groups to give us direction for your care. This is seriously valuable—it means we don’t waste time on treatment that’s not working because we get real-time feedback about your progress.

Artful Activation Away From Pain

In the end, our aim is to figure out which muscle groups are NOT working and activate them. The trick here is that the inactive groups are OFTEN NOT the primary areas of pain. So, instead of indiscriminately hammering away at your pain point, we try to artfully help you activate and strengthen the areas of your body that aren’t working. Many who go through our process remark that they don’t think they had ever previously known about these new muscle groups.

Foundations of Health

There are clear commonalities amongst healthy people. If you want to feel better, be healthier, or rid yourself of pain, we hold that you must have certain foundational elements in place. That’s why we teach exercise, sleep, nutrition, water, and restfulness with everyone. It’s difficult to heal, or even to feel good, if those things aren’t in place.

Sport-Specific Conditions

When athletes (of any skill level) come in with a sport-specific issue, we always want to see video of them in action. We don’t want to lose time fixing an issue in the office that’s just going to toggle back once the sport resumes. Many times we need to work with the athlete and/or coach to modify technique so they can stay on the field.

Am I a Good Candidate for Inertia?

Here’s our bread & butter, the types of cases with which we have the an awesome success rate:

1) Pain that’s preventing you from doing what you love

2) Post-surgical complications and rehab snags

3) Lingering old injuries

Inertia Health Center FAQ’s

Do you take insurance?

Yes, indeed. We are in-network with Blue Cross, Aetna, and Medicare.

What if I’m not a member those of insurance companies?

We have a great self-pay option.

What’s a first appointment like?

A one-hour deep dive into your history including past injuries, traumas, surgeries, meds, and all the ins and outs of your primary complaint. We want to understand the narrative of how you got to where you are today. Then we get right into the evaluation and hands-on treatment of the most important issue that we find.

Are you going to tell me I need to see you 2x week for the rest of my life?

No. This isn’t how we operate. We make recommendations based on what’s going to get your problem resolved as fast as possible. Treatment plans have discrete goals of restoring your function, strength, and ability.

Do you bop people with a magic wand?

Again, no. Most likely you’re going to need to partner with us to change something in your life to make sure that your problem resolves for good. And if you have a 25 year-old problem, expect it’s going to take some time to make a lasting change. There’s no fast food option with us.

I’ve already been everywhere else. Can you really help?

We certainly run with a different approach than most other clinic settings. The way we evaluate problems and craft treatment plans is usually unique compared to our patient’s previous experiences.
